Grout is a valuable and versatile construction material used in a wide variety of applications. Cement grout is a mixture of hydraulic cement and water with or without aggregates and with or without admixtures. Depending on the application, it is usually a pourable consistency, like very wet mortar. Making a distinction between grout, mortar, and concrete is sometimes difficult due to similar ingredients and properties. These similarities result in an occasional interchange of terms. For concrete raising services, a typical grout mixture is a fine aggregate (like sand), clay and perhaps with a small amount of cement. |
